There was a TV show in Mumbai, named, ‘What incident?’ – in which every month, a special person would share an incident from their life with the whole city, since this show was broadcast over every television network.
Every month, people would have to enter their names to participate and they would be nominated by a lucky draw.
This month, Aishwarya Singh (a model) was lucky enough to be nominated after so many months of trying. The show was taking place the very next day. She was very excited.
The following day, she got ready and came to the venue. There was a makeup stylist who put makeup on her. The show started after a few hours.
The show was broadcast live on all the television networks. The host started the show by saying, “Welcome back to ‘What Incident?’ – where people share their life incidents with the whole city. Today we have a very special guest, who is very eager to share her story. Everyone, please welcome, the one and only, Aishwarya Singh!”
“Hello everyone, I’m Aishwarya Singh. I am 16 years old. I have come to share a story that I faced along with my best friend, Priyanka Khan a year back, which is not very long ago. Before I tell you what happened, let me introduce you to my best friend and myself.
The both of us are totally different people. Priyanka is almost a full all-rounder. She topped every subject in every test, she is the sport star of the class and is disciplined. She is a kind and generous person at heart. She is a very sneaky and physically strong person too. She is fair (both in looks and personality), has curly hair and wears glasses.
I am, well, a fashionista. I will do anything to buy dresses and accessories. There is literally no problem related to fashion that I could not fix. I am a very happy person at heart. I am known for my boldness. I am fair and have very straight hair.
We lived in a tall apartment in Mumbai. Both of our families lived on the 24th floor next to each other. The Khans and the Singhs started a new tradition. We started spending weekends together once in three months. We started with a place where we could enjoy the whole day, Kidzania.
We reached there in the morning, waited in the line and then entered the ‘city’ filled with kids and teens, a place where kids earn money and spend it on items from shops. Priyanka and I had tons of fun. We worked, did fun activities and spent kidZo’s.
At noon, Priyanka and I went to the Nutella factory and made Nutella, while our parents were at the entrance shopping for stuff. I knew this as they called me while I was in the factory and informed us where they were.
We finished our shift in the factory after having a delicious Nutella sandwich. We went to the entrance and found them missing. We searched the whole area but still couldn’t find them. We tried reaching our parents, but all of their phones were switched off. My mother never switches her phone off.”
“What did the both of you do after that? Sorry, I am just curious,” said the host.
“It is okay to be curious, you know. As I was saying, to find out what happened to our families, we decided to interrogate people. There were many people, so it took us some time. Some people felt bad for us, a few were concerned about us but still did nothing, and the rest of them laughed, as we are just teenagers.
We didn’t get any information. We thought for some time and realized that we had done everything other than checking the security cameras. So, we went to the security office. We found three guards guarding the office. We explained our situation.
The first guard went in with the door open and was talking to another person who looked like the head of the security guards, the second one mumbled something and the third one hesitated. It took some time, but they let us in eventually. The way they let us in sounded rather suspicious to us.
It was of no use to check the security cameras as it blacked out correctly at that time. When we were about to head out, Priyanka couldn’t help but ask me whether we can interrogate them. I was also thinking about it, so I agreed.
We had a rough time making each and every person sit down and tell the truth. I was the one interrogating (as interrogating is my strong suit) and Priyanka was standing next to me.
They eventually confessed that they kidnapped our parents, as they thought that no one would believe a couple of teenagers. But behind their backs, Priyanka was recording every single detail on her phone as evidence.
After we left the office, we called up the police and sent them our evidence. They heard the recording and arrested them. They made them confess the place where they kept our parents, but couldn’t make them confess the reason they did this. They found out that the chief was the ultimate culprit through interrogation. We immediately rushed to the area and found the four of them alive but unconscious and severely injured.
We admitted them to the hospital. When they regained consciousness and could speak without any pain, we asked them whether they knew the reason. Priyanka’s father said that he might know why. My mother and father had filed a case against the chief’s brother (Mr. Mohan), who had poisoned his boss. The boss happened to be my mother’s brother, and had once humiliated Mr. Mohan in front of the public for ill-treating the other employees badly.
Priyanka’s father was their lawyer and the reason he was put to death–sentence. He knew that Mr. Mohan was the chief’s brother because he was next to him and both of them looked similar. The chief also kept calling him ‘brother’. Priyanka’s mother is a police officer. She was the one who was appointed to kill him.
Hearing this explanation, the both of us were shocked. I am guessing that he heard that we were coming there and thought that he could take this opportunity to kidnap us altogether. But he only found our parents.
All the drama aside, only a few weeks back, our parents were discharged from the hospital. They aren’t completely well, but are good enough to go to work.”
“Wow! Your story sounds almost unbelievable. How come this incident didn’t come on TV?” asked the host.
“It didn’t come on TV since we didn’t want to make this a big issue, but it did come in a small section of all the newspapers. It is okay to feel it is unbelievable, but this is a real incident. Even I felt it was an unbelievable incident while I narrated it to you.”
“It came in the newspaper? I read newspapers every day, I think I must have missed it. Thank you for coming here Aishwarya, we all had a great time listening to your incident.”
“Thank you for having me here, it was a great opportunity for me to share my incident with everyone,” replied Aishwarya.
“That’s awesome. That’s it for today, if you want to get nominated the next time, please enter your name in the following place and following date, and we will see you all next month. Bye!’
After the show ended, Aishwarya left home to meet her parents, who were eagerly watching the show.
